Malawi is known as the Warm Heart of Africa, and not just because of its lovely weather. Malawi is a friendly and welcoming country with warm, hospitable people.
Some 300,000 people live within 5km of the boundary of the Wildlife Reserve and thus are an integral part of its success.
A cultural visit will teach you about the important aspects of Malawian culture, honey collection, basket weaving and sustainable living programmes being implemented by WESSA.
Please remember that Malawians dress very modestly and it is respectful to dress appropriately, particularly in rural areas or when visiting communities around the park.
