Known as the Warm Heart of Africa, and not just because of its lovely weather, Malawi is a friendly and welcoming country with warm, hospitable people. This can be experienced on one of our cultural visits.
Some 300,000 people live within 5km of the boundary of the Wildlife Reserve, and thus are an integral part of its success.
When visiting Rafiki Safari Lodge, a cultural village walk can be organised upon request. A trip into the local village, Pendwe, will show you all there is to know about Malawian Culture, escorted by a local guide.
We are currently working with ‘With Change in Mind’, an American based charity organisation, to build a kindergarten in our local village. Ground on this project will be broken in March 2020.
Please be advised, in Malawian culture, women dress very modestly. We ask that you be mindful and respectful of this when going into the village and on cultural visits.
